Animal shelter halts cat intake for 30 days
Pitt County Animal Services (PCAS) has announced the shelter will not accept cats and kittens through August 26. The purpose of halting intake services is to effectively quarantine and treat the cats diagnosed with feline calicivirus (FCV). FCV is host-specific, meaning it can spread to other cats but not to other animal species or humans. FVC is a significant cause of contagious upper respiratory infections (URIs) in cats, also called the “cat flu.” FCV can also cause oral diseases or limping syndrome. ...
Regional water authority prepares for new PFAS regulations while aiming to keep costs down
The Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority (NRWASA) is exploring options for a PFAS filtration system in order to comply with recently proposed EPA drinking water standards. The authority has received some funds from the state for its initial pilot study. Owner speaks out after Greenville body shop ravaged by suspected arson
GREENVILLE, Pitt County — A Greenville body shop sustained major damage in a fire on Wednesday, July 24 that investigators believe was intentionally set. Investigators with Greenville Police say the fire at Komplete Auto Repair & Bodyshop started in the office and was ruled intentional.
