Trunk or Treat at WAHS
A total of 27 WAHS school clubs, activities, leadership groups, student senates and honor societies came together October 24 to hold the third annual Trunk or Treat. This is a community service event inviting the public to come out in their Halloween costumes, learn about the various groups on campus, and receive or try to win treats. Challenges included saying something in French (French Club), putting (Woodshop), pin the nose on G Washington (We the People club), and operating a robot (Robotics). Members of the School Senate challenged participants to pirate riddles, such as, “What is the pirate’s favorite letter?’ The answer, of course, is R (pronounced ARRHHH!).

This month, we focus on a family enterprise designed to protect and preserve the many kinds of apples that were once threatened with obscurity, and a unique event that celebrates this heritage.
