Fire injures two, damages home
On May 4 shortly before 7 p.m. crews were dispatched to a house fire on Magnolia Drive in California. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, two people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the blaze, which caused $450,000 damage to the two-story house. The home is owned by James Shaw, according to the state fire marshal’s office. It took 70 firefighters 45 minutes to control the flames. Investigators determined the fire began within the two-car garage attached to the house. The occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross, as well as family and friends. The preliminary cause of the fire is accidental.
