PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – In a developing investigation, deputies from the Calvert County Patrol Bureau responded to a report of a shooting on Sark Court early Friday morning. At approximately 7:05 a.m., on December 1, 2023, police and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and discovered a 16-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

In the wake of recent events, Calvert County, Maryland grapples with significant public safety challenges that have stirred concerns among its citizens. The community was first shaken by a shooting on Sark Court in Prince Frederick, leaving a young male in stable condition after a harrowing incident that ended with the suspect, a masked individual, fleeing in a black SUV.

Two incidents occurred in Lexington Park, Maryland this week. In the first incident, police seized firearms and drugs from an apartment during a joint investigation. A loaded AR-15 pistol and a loaded Glock 29 semi-automatic handgun with obliterated serial numbers were found. In the second incident, three individuals were indicted for the murder of Marcus Anthony Day, who was shot and killed in a Sheetz parking lot. The indicted individuals were already in prison on unrelated matters.

Both the juvenile from Great Mills, Maryland and the adult from Bushwood, Maryland, were charged as adults.
