The book, which depicts a young person coming to terms with their gender identity, is a common target of right-wing banning campaigns nationwide. Outcry from town residents, students, staff, and LGBTQIA+ activists was immediate and prolific. AMENIA — The Board of Education of the North East (Webutuck) Central School District held a public hearing on the 2024-25 budget on Monday, May 6. The hearing, held in the high school’s library, drew a small crowd that included five students who also were part of a presentation on a school program on climate and culture.
Hudson, East Greenbush students integrate 3D printers in pre-K classrooms
HUDSON, N.Y. (WRGB) — Students in two upstate New York schools are getting a unique opportunity to work with 3D printers in their classrooms. CBS6 visited Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School in Hudson on Monday, where 4- and 5-year-old pre-K students having been incorporating one of the new printers into their curriculum, thanks to a grant through the School Superintendents Association (AASA). The other printer is housed within East Greenbush Central School District.

MID-HUDSON- Spongy moth populations rise and fall in cycles of roughly 10 to 15 years and entomologists say that 2024 is a year of high population in the Mid-Hudson Region of the state. Populations of spongy moths vary during the cycle, from years with few caterpillars and very minor damage to years with large numbers of caterpillars and very noticeable leaf damage and tree defoliation.
