I am really disappointed to read that Charles Williamson used the term “illegals” at last night’s Great Barrington Town Meeting when referring to the children of our school district. I feel ashamed for our community that a community member would speak that way about its youngest members.

Populations of spongy moths vary during the cycle, from years with few caterpillars and very minor damage to years with large numbers of caterpillars and very noticeable leaf damage and tree defoliation.
West Stockbridge rent control board considers substantial trailer park rent hike
On Wednesday, the rent control board in West Stockbridge will consider a request from a mobile home park owner to increase rents by more than 200%. Published reports say the owner, Tom Lennon, wants to boost lot rents from the current $241 a month to nearly $800. (Tenants are responsible for obtaining their own mobile homes.) Lennon cited improvements, the appraised value of the property and rising costs of doing business as the reasons.

Hudson, East Greenbush students integrate 3D printers in pre-K classrooms
HUDSON, N.Y. (WRGB) — Students in two upstate New York schools are getting a unique opportunity to work with 3D printers in their classrooms. CBS6 visited Montgomery C. West Stockbridge passes budget, all articles but dog park proposal ‘ruffed up’ a bit
West Stockbridge — Although residents approved the town’s fiscal year 2025 budget, along with all special articles, the May 6 Town Meeting hit a roadblock during the public’s discussion of a proposal to appropriate $25,000 to the Dog Park Advisory Committee, a 10 percent match required of a $250,000 grant that would move forward the project, at least to the design phase. The article ultimately passed but with an amendment that provided a stopgap measure by requiring a Special Town Meeting vote to approve the final project.
