HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) - My name is Janima "J" Bond and I'm running for Hinton City Council because I have a true desire to create positive change and I'm concerned for my neighbors, the community, and the future of this city.

For many, Hinton is a great place to live, and I consider myself fortunate to have grown up here. However, there is much work to be done to improve the quality of life for all residents and to propel our city forward.

We must ensure we are electing leaders we believe will commit to making the safety and security of everyone in our community, especially those most vulnerable, their top priority. Leaders who will respect all residents and their perspectives, value our neighborhoods and truly understand that their role as a city council member will be to act in the best interests of ALL the residents in our community.

Over the years, I've tried to be a voice for people in this community and believe I have shown that I'm 100% committed to the well-being of all who reside here. I happily serve on various boards and committees -- Hinton Area Foundation, Lions Club, Hinton Railroad Museum, and Wild, Wonderful and Healthy Summers County. I also serve on Hinton's Land Reuse Agency and I'm one of the founding members of Hinton Help for Homes an exciting new project!

As a community leader, I've chosen to avoid being blame-centric and instead continue to remain focused on how we move forward from where we are. I've been an advocate for positive change and although you may not see it yet, positive change has occurred.

I will continue working to build stronger relationships between the city and the

community they serve. We must work collaboratively to find effective solutions to provide a safer and more inviting environment for all. I have accomplished a great deal as a community leader, and I believe I can accomplish much more as an elected official.

So, I ask that you please consider allowing me to represent YOU as your elected leader, as we work together to build the future we envision and deserve!
