Arkansas-Missouri softball game suspended, to continue Friday
A weather delay caused the Arkansas softball team’s SEC Tournament opener against Missouri to be suspended in the top of the fifth inning late Thursday at Auburn’s Jane B. Moore Field. The game is scheduled to resume Friday at 9 a.m. CDT. Missouri will be leading the Razorbacks, 2-1, and will have runners at first and third with no one out. A day of thunderstorms caused two games to be postponed until Friday: quarterfinal matchups between Georgia-Florida and South Carolina-Texas A&M. Arkansas wins first game against MSU
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (WTVA) — Arkansas defeated Mississippi State 7-5 on Friday in the first game of the three-game series. The Bulldogs are 32-17 overall and 14-11 in the Southeastern Conference. The teams next play at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday.

#14 Mississippi State (31-16, 14-10 SEC) and #5 Arkansas (40-9, 17-7 SEC) will get together for their annual baseball series this weekend in Fayetteville. Both teams are still working hard to polish up their post season resumes. The Razorbacks are also still in contention for the Southeastern Conference regular season title. With a strong finish, Coach Dave Van Horn's club should wrap up a top eight-national seed. The Diamond Dawgs are currently projected to host an NCAA regional in Starkville, but still have some work to do in order to make that a reality.
Arkansas Men’s Track and Field wins 2024 SEC Championship, women finish second
GAINESVILLE, F.L. (KNWA/KFTA) – Arkansas men’s track and field has won the 2024 SEC Championship while the women’s team finished in second place. Going into the second to last event, the men were trailing by four points to Texas A&M but overtook the Aggies thanks to the strong running in the Men’s 5,000 meter race.

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas - Most expected the series between Mississippi State and Arkansas to be nip and tuck. On paper, the two teams are incredibly similar. With the SEC's top hurler, Hagen Smith, on the mound, most expected the Razorbacks to win. They did and upped their record in series openers to 13-0 on the season.

In McDaniel’s rankings, he has Smith the No. 4 prospect, but predicts the talented lefty goes fifth in the draft to the Chicago White Sox due to team needs. Smith, Arkansas’ ace pitcher, has a record of 9-0 on the season with a 1.36 ERA. He has pitched 66 innings, struck out 125 and walked 25. He has been outstanding all season after his first start didn’t go well in extremely cold conditions. Since then he has dominated many of college baseball’s best hitters.

With Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC next season, the league is moving away from divisional play. The SEC is also dropping the double-elimination component of the SEC Baseball Tournament in 2025. All 16 SEC members will compete in a single-elimination tournament next season.
