Hidden Creek Community Center planned to close for cleaning

Just before the summer rolls in, Hillsboro’s Hidden Creek Community Center is closing for spring cleaning.

The two-story, 51,000 square-foot facility will be shutting its doors to the public for maintenance from May 27, until June 9, the city announced on its website .

Alongside a thorough cleaning of the entire facility, both mechanical equipment and fitness equipment will be serviced, and the gymnasium and studio floors will be buffed and deep cleaned.

The Kalapuya Hall floor will also be refinished with “a deep scrub and topcoat process.”

Other important projects will be completed during the hiatus, including the Cell Phone Booster project, which aims to improve cellular coverage throughout the facility.

During the closure, Hidden Creek Pass members will be able to access the facilities at the Hillsboro's Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center — encompassing fitness equipment, group classes and the pools.

Members must bring their Hidden Creek ID cards to swipe upon entry and will be asked to sign in at the front desk. Punch cards for Hidden Creek Kids Club — the center’s onsite child care program — will be eligible for use at the aquatic center. City officials noted how the Shute Park site is regularly full, so community members should plan accordingly in the case of limited capacity.

Opened in 2021, Hidden Creek features the first city-owned gymnasium — complete with two basketball courts — classrooms, two fitness studios, a fitness center, community rooms and outdoor sports courts.
