Bridge work on Interstate 55 in Montgomery County begins
A pair of bridges in Montgomery County will receive upgrades this spring and summer, courtesy of the state's Rebuild Illinois project. The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that the Morrisonville Avenue bridge south of Farmersville will be completely removed and replaced along with the installation of a brand-new bridge deck.
Road work to repair and replace two bridges south of Springfield to start Thursday
Work begins Thursday to rebuild or replace two bridges over Interstate 55 in Montgomery County, south of Springfield. The entire bridge deck for the Morrisonville Avenue bridge just south of Farmersville will be removed and replaced. Morrisonville Avenue over I-55 will be closed for the duration of the project, which will be completed in July.

Pleads Guilty To Making Terrorist Threats
The man charged with making terrorist threats at Greenville University last month pleaded guilty in Bond County Circuit Court Monday to two offenses. Deyondri M. Joy, age 21, of Centralia, entered guilty pleas to making terrorist threats on February 14 and 15. Joy was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with the sentences to be served concurrently.

Vandalia man facing multiple felony charges in Fayette County stemming from a traffic stop
A Vandalia man is facing a total of 4 charges, including 3 felony charges, resulting from a traffic stop. 35 year old Todd B. Aaron of Vandalia is charged with Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer, which is a Class 2 Felony. Information in the charge says Aaron is alleged to have knocked a police officer to the ground during a traffic stop. Aaron is also charged with a second count of Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer in that Aaron is alleged to have hit another officer’s arm during the traffic stop. Aaron is also charged with Obstructing a Peace Officer, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information on the charge says that Aaron is alleged to have refused to obey orders and drove away during a traffic stop. Aaron is also facing a Class A Misdemeanor charge of Resisting a Peace Officer.

Taylorville to install two Naloxone kits in parks
TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Manners Park and Jayne's Park will both be getting new Naloxone (Narcan) kits. The Christian County Prevention Coalition asked the Taylorville Park board for approval to install the kits after they saw an increase in people using drugs at the parks. Jason Domonousky, a member of Christian County Prevention Coalition says the the kits will help prevent accidental overdoses.
