Juneteenth in Rapid City: Schedule changes and facility closures
RAPID CITY, S.D. - In observance of Juneteenth Freedom Day on Wednesday, June 19, there will be adjustments to city services and schedules in Rapid City. The Rapid City Landfill will be closed, and trash collection normally scheduled for Wednesday will be moved to Thursday of that week. Regular trash collection will continue on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

America's newest citizens welcomed in beautiful ceremony at Mt. Rushmore
MT RUSHMORE, S.D. - Friday was Flag Day, a perfect day for more than 160 people to become U.S. Citizens in a naturalization ceremony at Mount Rushmore. 167 people from 46 nations took the oath of citizenship. Federal Judge Roberto Lange presided over the ceremony. The celebration also featured performances from the Dakota Choral Union and Lakota artist Sequoia Crosswhite.
