RAPID CITY, S.D. – Strider Bikes is gearing up for its 3rd annual Jingle Bell Legacy Ride, a family-friendly, holiday-themed bike ride scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2023, from 12-1 PM at Founders Park in Rapid City. This joyful event aims to spread holiday cheer and support All Kids Bike, a nonprofit dedicated to equipping every child in America with the ability to ride a bike by incorporating it into kindergarten PE classes.

Two of the three defending South Dakota state volleyball champions defended their titles last weekend in Rapid City. Sioux Falls Christian wrapped up its season with a 3-1 win over Rapid City Christian to claim the Class A crown and runs its streak of consecutive state titles to seven, also winning 11 of the past 13 Class A championships. Class AA Harrisburg was the only squad to end up with a perfect season at 31-0, defeating Sioux Falls Washington 3-1 for its third title in school history.

RAPID CITY — Northwestern High School volleyball coach Nora Groft is the newest member of the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Groft, who has spent 28 years in the Northwestern program and led the Wildcats to a 665-93 record in 22 seasons as head coach, was inducted Saturday night during the state high school volleyball tournament in Rapid City. She received her award from former Northwestern head coach and fellow SDVBCA Hall of Fame member Kathy Graves.
