It looks like Lincoln will start having its elections in even-numbered, rather than odd-numbered, years. The question, though, is how soon. According to results from the Lancaster County Election Commission, “Ballot Question 2,” which would realign the timing of city elections to have them occur in statewide election years, starting in 2028, and “Ballot Question 3,” which would realign city elections with state elections, but not until 2030, were both on their way to winning early Wednesday morning.

The Mullen Lady Broncos advanced to the Class D2 state volleyball tournament semifinals with a 3-1 win over Wilcox-Hildreth on Thursday. Mullen dropped the first set 25-22 and then fell behind 15-5 in set #2. Mullen would then turn it around coming back to win a deuce game 26-24 to even the match at one set apiece. Mullen took the lead winning set #3 25-14 and then closed it out in set #4 25-20. Mullen hit .156 for the match and held Wilcox-Hildreth to .081 hitting for the match. Jenna Donahoe finished with a match high 20 kills for the Broncos. Abigail Gracey had 10 kills and Brynne McCully finished with 9 kills. Kalli Licking finished with 36 assists for Mullen. Mullen advances to the state semifinals where they will play at 11 a.m. against the #6 seed Bancroft-Rosalie at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln. Bancroft-Rosalie knocked off the #3 seed Hay Springs in straight sets 25-13, 25-6, 25-23. The match will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM and kbbn.com.

Now, the Huskers enter the final quarter of their regular season at 5-3 and face a rough November stretch. With two shifty teams and two top-25 opponents ahead, Nebraska's final four games will be tough. These four teams all provide unique and similar challenges for the Huskers. The challenges range from simple to daunting, however. Plus, with this being the final stretch of the regular season, not much will change in these rankings. Here are the final rankings for Nebraska's final four opponents of the season. No. 4: Rutgers Scarlet Knights Rutgers came up short against Michigan despite having a very dysfunctional day. The Scarlet Knights completed only three passes, yet they totaled 123 yards in the air and scored a receiving touchdown. Michigan scored on only four of its 10 drives but still controlled the clock, finishing with over 39 minutes of possession. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - More than 59% of registered voters across Nebraska cast a ballot in the election, according to numbers from state and local election officials. Turnout in Lancaster County was higher. Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen had predicted a 52% turnout, and the county ended up with 60%. 66% of those voting went to the polls.
