Hibbing woman, 30, dies in northern Minnesota crash

A 30-year-old Hibbing woman died in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday in St. Louis County.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at 7:10 p.m. on Highway 73 at Gilboe Road in the unorganized territory of Jannette Lake, just south of Silica.

The driver of a GMC Acadia, identified as Jenna Kay Marie Schweiss, was heading northbound on the highway when she ran off the road to the right and struck a guardrail.

Schweiss was pronounced dead at the scene.

Road conditions were dry at the time, according to the crash report. The state patrol is investigating.
