Date change for Western Kentucky State Fair at Oak Grove
From the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, Kentucky Proud Series. Lexington, KY — A date change has been confirmed for the Western Kentucky State Fair at Oak Grove. The new date is Wednesday (June 19) with a post time of 11 a.m. (CDT) with non-wagering races prior if needed. The box will close Sunday (June 16) at 9 a.m.

Neighbors evacuated after man threatens to blow up house in Hopkinsville
HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 39-year-old man was arrested after threatening to blow up his mother’s house on South Oneal Avenue in Hopkinsville. Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department arrived at the home Sunday morning where the suspect’s mother said he had made verbal threats against her. The suspect was inside the home and had turned on heaters in an attempt to fill the house with gas. Officers were able to smell the gas after approaching the home, according to a police report.

The Sixth Annual Squealin’ on the Square barbeque competition drew a large crowd with the aroma of pork ribs, pork chops and chicken being prepared for judging.
