Members of the rock band Apocalyptic Lovers recently made a surprise visit to the Austintown Middle School Choir to drop off thank-you packages to kick off the summer. In October 2023, Choir Director Megan Keown and her students recorded backing vocals for the Youngstown-based four-member rock band’s newest album, “And the World Tomorrow,” slated for release at the end of June.
Ursuline High School welcomes 115 new alumni at commencement ceremonies
115 new graduates walked the stage Sunday afternoon at Ursuline High School’s graduation ceremony at Stambaugh Auditorium. Sister Darla Vogelsang, Ursuline Class of 1960, was invited to be the commencement speaker. She is a retired hospital chaplain at Mercy Health and is currently involved in the Ursuline Sisters Immigrant Outreach Program.

One-car crash in Hubbard Township leads to arrest of driver
A one-crash crash occurred Wednesday morning on State Route 62 in Hubbard Township, leading to the arrest of the vehicle's driver. A Honda Accord was traveling southbound on State Route 62 near the Flying J gas station when it crossed over into the other lane and crossed over the median, crashing the vehicle into a ditch.
