Fallen Hermann, Mo. officer remembered

Jefferson City, Mo. (KMOX) - Four names have been added to Missouri's Law Enforcement Memorial Wall, including Hermann Police Department Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith's.

The 34-year-old Griffith was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call at a convenience store in March 2023.

Family members attended Saturday's service and placed flowers on a memorial wreath.

Located in Jefferson City, Missouri's Law Enforcement Memorial Wall now contains 746 names.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey spoke at the service and said words cannot describe the gratitude felt for those officers lost in the line of duty, "It dawns on me that the appropriate response is to carry on the work of our fallen heroes, to rededicate ourselves to the rule of law, to public safety, and to finding justice for victims in the state of Missouri."
