IHSAA softball sectionals announced for 2024

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Yesterday, we talked about the IHSAA baseball sectional pairings , and now tonight we have the softball pairings.

Starting with the 4A Sectional 16, Harrison faces the host school, and last year’s sectional champion North. Meanwhile, Castle will play the winner of Reitz and Central.

There are two 3A sectionals in this area. Sectional 31 will have Pike Central taking on Heritage Hills for a chance to play Lincoln. Last year’s champion Jasper Wildcats await the winner of Washington and the host school Southridge.

Sectional 32 will be hosted by Boonville, and out of the gate they will take on last year’s sectional winner in Gibson Southern. Both will compete for a spot against Memorial in round 2. And on the bottom half, Bosse and Mt. Vernon will go head to head with Princeton waiting in the wings.

2A Section 48 will be at Forest Park. Tell City drew Mater Dei for the play in against Forest Park. South Spencer was paired up with Perry Central. The winner of that game will play last year’s 2A state champion, the North Posey Vikings.

Finally, the 1A Sectional 64. Northeast Dubois drew Spring Valley for a chance to play Cannelton. The Trojans of Wood Memorial will have a tough go against last year’s 1A state champion Tecumseh.

All games begin Monday, May 20 and continue through that Saturday with the one-game regional round set for the following Tuesday.
