REYNOLDSBURG – The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) will soon begin aerial treatments to control populations of the Spongy Moth (formerly Gypsy Moth), an invasive species, in Ohio. Granville High School’s Theater Department presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" on May 3 and May 4 at 7 pm. The comedic musical follows an eclectic group of spellers in the race for first place and a ticket to nationals. There is outrage over easy words, and ridiculous example sentences for each of the words. Spellers have to work through the pressures placed upon them by their families. They work through the challenges of adolescence with silly, light-hearted songs. There are candid and touching songs that enhance this exciting musical about what seems to be a boring event: a spelling bee.
