Hands-on training for Haubstadt firefighters made possible by two homeowners

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Haubstadt firefighters got the chance to perform hands-on training last Saturday thanks to two homeowners that allowed them to use a property that they had recently purchased.

“We would like to thank Lance and Lauren Alston for their willingness to let HFT utilize a property that they had recently purchased,” officials said on social media. “Hands on training sessions like this allows our firefighters to be better prepared when a true emergency arises.”

Officials state members trained on scene size-ups, truck placement, advancing hose lines, equipment familiarization, overhaul, ventilation, search and rescue, victim extraction and much more.

“Continued training is vital to ensure the best possible response when our community calls on us in a time of need,” said officials.
