UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – A former Harrisburg church youth leader has been charged with allegedly molesting a child in public and police say they’re working to identify other potential victims.
Upper Allen Police responded to a McDonald’s in Mechanicsburg on April 7 after witnesses reported seeing an older man sexually assault a young female in public.
According to Upper Allen Police, after an investigation, the man was identified as Roy Andrews. On Monday, April 22, the Upper Allen Township Police Department executed a search warrant at Andrews’ home where police say he attempted to flee and resisted arrest.
Crews in Perry County work to pull 52-foot-long propane tank out of the Susquehanna Officers were eventually able to arrest Andrews. Andrews is now incarcerated in the Cumberland County Prison.
Police reported that Andrews knew the victim from previously serving as a youth leader at “Iglesia La Fuenta”, a Hispanic church in Harrisburg. Andrews was the youth leader for the church from around 2014 to 2022.
