Bishop McDevitt’s young wrestlers lead impressive showing at CV Kickoff Classic
Bishop McDevitt had half as many wrestlers competing as first-place Council Rock South, but the Crusaders more than held their own with a fourth-place showing at Saturday’s Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic. McDevitt crowned two champs in sophomore Camden Baum at 139 pounds and junior Ryan Lawler at 152 to pace a local contingent that included host Cumberland Valley (10th place), Northern (11th), West Perry (12th), Boiling Springs (13th), ELCO (15th), Palmyra (17th) and Shippensburg (21st) among the 23 teams.

Mustang midget football dominates championship
The West Perry Mustang midget football team rode a stout defense and a couple of big plays from Quintin Palm to a 16-8 victory over Red Land in early November to capture the championship of the CFA Federal League. The win was especially sweet after a loss to Middletown in last year’s championship.
