Bishop McDevitt had half as many wrestlers competing as first-place Council Rock South, but the Crusaders more than held their own with a fourth-place showing at Saturday’s Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic. The tight-knit community of Middletown, central Pennsylvania, is in mourning after the tragic death of beloved gymnastics coach, Melissa 'Missy' Deroba, at the age of 49. Missy, a figure synonymous with passion and dedication in the gymnastics world, lost her life in a horrific accident on November 7th. Her untimely death has left the community she so vibrantly contributed to in a state of profound grief.

The West Perry Mustang midget football team rode a stout defense and a couple of big plays from Quintin Palm to a 16-8 victory over Red Land in early November to capture the championship of the CFA Federal League. The win was especially sweet after a loss to Middletown in last year’s championship.
