Why was Election Day chosen as the “primetime” to have a fundraiser for the parish and what year was the first meal held? Inquiring minds went to work to try to find the answers. There is nothing in the church records or history that gives the date of the first Election Day Dinner. Descendants of the first organizers and workers recalled what they were told or remembered.
