    21 bands in 13 hours: Music festival ready to rock Hanover

    Twenty-one bands are set to rock out at the Pleasant Hill Fairgrounds this Saturday during the third annual Rock On The Hill Music Festival. The one-day event is organized by the Hanover Area Jaycees, with supporting sponsorships from the Hanover Eagles #1406 and several local clubs and businesses.

    The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will feature a variety of rock, alt-rock, metal and Christian rock bands on two stages. Several of the groups slated to perform call southcentral Pennsylvania home, including Hanover native and festival founder Brenden Starr. Jimmie's Chicken Shack, an alternative rock group out of Annapolis, Maryland and Simon Says, a rock band from Sacramento, California, are co-headlining the festival.

    Over a dozen food and alcohol vendors will be on site to serve festival goers, including Crazy Heifer Smokehouse, Dough and Arrow, Feelin Cocky, Aldus Brewing Company, Sign of the Horse Brewery, Fat Bat Brewing Co. and more. In addition, 20 unique craft and merchant vendors will be open for business around the festival grounds.

    Tickets can be purchased in advance online at a discounted price or at the gate for $30. The festival is open to all ages and children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
