Crash in Union County kills a Lake City man and seriously injures another man
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. (WCJB) - A crash in Union County kills a 38-year-old man and seriously injures a 20-year-old man. The 20-year-old man was traveling west on State Road 23 just after 3 p.m. Sunday. The 38-year-old man was traveling east on State Road 238. The 20-year-old crossed the center line and collided with the 38-year-old’s car.
Person of interest identified in fatal Alachua County hit-and-run
A person of interest was identified following a fatal hit-and-run that killed a Floral City man walking along US Highway 441 early Sunday morning in Alachua County. According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 2015-20 dark grey Ford Mustang driving south hit and killed the 26-year-old Floral City man walking along US 441 just south of SW 104th Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The vehicle continued south toward Micanopy and Marion County.

Judge sides with state, tosses Gainesville’s GRU lawsuit
Leon County Judge Angela Dempsey on Friday sided with the state and upheld legislation that removes the city’s sole control of Gainesville Regional Utilities.
