Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman has died from her injuries after being struck by a vehicle last night in Hamden.

Last night at 10:52, Hamden officers arrived at 2320 Dixwell Ave. where they found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle. According to police, initial observation determined that the woman’s injuries “were not believed to be life-threatening,” and she was transported to a hospital.

Almost an hour later at 11:49 p.m., the hospital informed police that the woman died as a result of her injuries. The identity of the woman has not been released as police work to locate her family.

The operator of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with Hamden police’s Accident Reconstruction Team as they investigate this crash.
