VPD responds to bicycle accident on West Hill Avenue
VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department recently responded to a 58-year-old bicyclist that was struck by a vehicle on West Hill Avenue. On April 29, 2024, at approximately 4:25 pm., Valdosta Police Officers, Valdosta Fire Fighters, and Emergency Medical Services Personnel responded to the 1400 block of West Hill Avenue after E911 received several emergency calls about a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders found the bicyclist, a 58-year-old male, unresponsive. He was transported by EMS to South Georgia Medical Center.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) - Valdosta State University has made several changes to Saturday’s undergraduate commencement due to the threat of possible rain and storms. The university announced on social media Saturday morning that the evening graduation ceremony would be moved inside the PE Complex and broken into three ceremonies. “Doing this allows as many guests to attend as possible WITHOUT TICKETS,” said the university in an online statement.
