    NJ woman, 62, charged after dumped boiling water on man during argument: police

    Hackensack, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A New Jersey woman was charged on Wednesday after allegedly dumping boiling water on a man during an argument, police said.

    Evelyn Sampson, 62, got into a dispute at around 10 a.m. at an apartment complex on Lehigh Street in Hackensack, according to police. She then allegedly poured hot water on the 69-year-old man she was arguing with.

    Hackensack police were initially called to the scene after receiving reports of the assault.

    “During the dispute, the victim reported she dumped boiling water on him,” Hackensack Police Capt. Michael Antista said in a statement obtained by NJ.com .

    The man was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

    Sampson was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and a third-degree weapons offense.

    She was taken to Bergen County Jail.
