Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation has been raising money for almost two years with the “Hundreds for Hack” Buy a Brick program.

Time is running out to purchase a brick for this program with the final day to order your brick(s) May 15. There are two sizes of bricks available — 4 x 8 inches and 8 x 8 inches. The 4 x 8 bricks give you three lines of 18 characters per line, and the 8 x 8 bricks give you six lines of 18 characters per line. You can also buy more bricks to have a larger message, i.e. purchasing four of the 8 x 8 Bricks would give you a 16 x 16 inch square.

You can add an available graphic image if you choose. Graphics include animals, military, nature, spiritual, sports, states, etc.

All the information about ordering and choosing what you want on your brick is available at www.thatsmybrick.com/hlacf.

You can see samples of the bricks and logos available on that website.

The Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation Committee will be installing the bricks around the flagpole next to the Chamber of Commerce building in Hackensack in June, with a dedication ceremony during Sweetheart Days July 9 at 5:15 p.m. just before the Pet Parade.

The Hackensack Lakes Area Community Foundation serves the nine townships within 10 miles of Hackensack. In the five years since it began, the foundation has been able to give out over $30,000 in 25 grants to 15 non-profits. This includes the nine non-profits grants of over $5,000 that were just given to in the latest grant round.

“Our primary objective has been to raise money for our Endowment Fund so that the interest can be granted out to non-profits that support the cities of Hackensack and Backus and the surrounding communities,” the Foundation said.
