New name of GWS hotel might confuse people
The mystery of the Maxwell Anderson (née The Hotel Denver) may be solved. Anderson is in fact not a train conductor but a Wisconsin man charged with first-degree murder. He is alleged to have murdered and dismembered a young college student from Milwaukee. Just do a Google search of Maxwell Anderson and you immediately find stories about Anderson recently being charged in the death and mutilation of Sade Robinson, a Milwaukee woman (CNN).
A Vacation Home in the Heart of Vail Valley
Homeowners Jessica and Martin Kristiseter wanted a vacation home within easy driving distance from their primary home in Denver. Their search led them to a traditional log home located on a golf course in the Cordillera Valley Club, near Edwards, Colorado, with views of the golf course and several mountain ranges. Recalls Jessica, “I didn’t know anything about the Cordillera Valley Club and was pleasantly surprised.”

West Mountain Regional Housing Coalition’s “Good Deeds” buydown program gains traction and dollars
The West Mountain Regional Housing Coalition is looking for at least $3 million for its “Good Deeds” buydown program, starting with its member local governments. The program aims to separate employment from affordable housing, increase home ownership opportunities, and increase affordable housing stock. It will provide buyers who work in Eagle, Pitkin, and Garfield counties with 30% of a home’s purchase price up front, in exchange for a permanent price-capped deed restriction. The buyer must live in the home as their primary residence.

Gypsum’s biomass plant has closed, apparently permanently, leaving facility’s future in doubt
Gypsum’s Eagle Valley Clean Energy Biomass Plant has closed, apparently for good. The news came to employees on Tuesday. In an April 16 email to Gypsum Town Manager Jeremy Rietmann, Paola Cadau, vice president of operations for wind for Greenbacker Capital, which owns the facility, wrote that the company had made the “difficult decision that it is no longer financially viable for us to continue operations.”
