Lunches for those in need
St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen will resume its free weekly lunches this November, according to Deacon Phil Harrington, ministry coordinator. Harrington said the luncheons likely will continue in the same format, providing free meals and a warm community space for individuals who need them at midday on Thursdays. The lunches serve as a meeting place for unhoused people in the Aspen area, allowing them to connect with service providers and to receive vouchers for food and clothing.

Mohr Interviews Alan Fletcher during the 2024 Aspen Music Festival
Alan Fletcher is President and CEO of the Aspen Music Festival and School. He talks with Aspen Public Radio's Chris Mohr about the upcoming 2024 season. Classical music reporter Chris Mohr has loved classical music since he was twelve. “And I owe it all to radio,” Chris explains. “I grew up in a farm town east of Cleveland. One day I turned on the local classical radio station. They were playing Vivaldi, and it was like the gates of heaven opened up to me!" Chris is also a composer, and is working on a 53-note-to-the-octave oratorio, "Melodies of the Shoreless Sea." This is his ninth summer working for Aspen Public Radio.
