The first Black female-owned supper club in Connecticut just opened at Foxwoods
Mashantucket ― Stepping into Grace by Nia at Foxwoods, you are likely to be initially struck by the cool, sophisticated atmosphere. Chandeliers drip from the ceiling. The walls swim with undulating patterns of a wave-like aqua design. Deep blue curtains hang near a stage where, on a recent morning, someone was tuning the piano. Tables and banquets — there are 193 seats with great sightlines to the stage — are artfully placed around the rectangular room.

The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce (GNACC) is holding the annual Duck Race on the Yantic River at the Yantic Fire Department’s Fireman’s Field on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funds raised will go toward the Chamber and Madonna Place, according to the flyer.
Hot Rods Roll Into Town for the Cause for Paws Classic Car Show Benefiting Warwick Animal Shelter
All things with four wheels will be rolling onto the scene to support four-legged critters this month for the 15th annual Cause for Paws Car Show, organized by the Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter to benefit homeless pets. From classic cars and hot rods to custom automobiles and fire trucks, the show has something for all enthusiasts to ogle, but even though spectators are sure to be enticed by the shiny Corvettes, “The cause is the reason that people come,” says co-director Ruth Napolitano. “Adoptable dogs from the shelter always join us too – people love to meet them.”
