A Perry man was sentenced this week to 52 years in federal prison for sexually assaulting a woman and forcing her to drive at gunpoint to the Texas coast. In Oklahoma City federal court, U.S. District Judge Scott L. Palk said the behavior of Zachary Charles Fowler, 24, was “horrendous and dehumanizing,” and the nature of the case was “horrific and terrifying.”

Corpus Christi Mourns the Loss of Officer Kyle Hicks after Line-of-Duty Death

Traffic crash increase on Interstate 37, U.S. 77 construction area
SAN PATRICIO COUNTY, Texas — Since the Nueces River Bridge Construction Project began on Interstate 37 and U.S. Highway 77, multiple crashes have occurred in this area. According to TxDOT spokesperson Rickey Dailey, in the state of Texas last year, 77 percent of the deaths in work zones were either motorist or passengers. Once-thought Aransas Pass accidental shooting ruled as intentional
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A shooting in Aransas Pass that police initially believed was accidental, has now been ruled, as intentional, according to APPD officials. On Friday night officers arrived to a home on Yoakum Avenue where they found 18-year-old Philip Esslinger shot in the chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
