GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Elm Street Park will play as host to this weekend’s Greenville Open. It’s a pickleball tournament open to players of all ages for a chance to see who has the sharpest skills with their paddle.

This is the third pickleball tournament to be played at the Elm Street Park courts since they opened in the spring of 2023.

Tournament Director Will Strickland said having tournaments like these allows people to see the different levels of competition for pickleball while also giving people a chance to have some fun with the nicer weather.

“We actually have a 12-year-old in the tournament he’s the youngest one, so it’s good to see the youth getting more into it. I think the oldest we got is up to like 70 years old or so. Overall, I think it’s really fun, you can get up with your friends you can be more competitive however you want it to be is what it can be,” Strickland said.
