Greenville police continue to seek a suspect in a Kearny Park shooting that injured one and prompted modified lockdowns at nearby schools.

A spokeswoman for the Greenville Police Department said the incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers responded to a shots fired call from the 1800 block of Norcott Circle off of Howell Street.

Shortly after officers responded, a man arrived at ECU Health Medical Center via private vehicle with what appeared to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

An incident report said the victim is a 24-year-old man. His name has not been released. His permanent residence is not on Norcott Circle.

The shooting prompted modified lockdowns at nearby J.H. Rose High School and South Greenville Elementary School.

Both schools were also placed on modified lockdown on Feb. 7 after a shooting in the 1800 block of Norcott Circle.

No arrest has been made but the spokesperson said police have developed strong leads. The investigation is ongoing.
