Source: WVU Athletic Director receives an extension
West Virginia University Athletic Director Wren Baker is receiving an extension, despite his current deal not being up for several more years. According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Baker has signed a two-year add-on that will take his contract with the school through the end of 2030. Baker originally signed on as AD in December of 2022.

On Monday, she picked up her fifth shutout of the season when she blanked playoff-bound West Greene, 2-0, on two hits with six strikeouts. Shutout No. 6 came two days later when she allowed one hit and struck out 14 Mapletown batters in a sixth straight Carmichaels victory, 7-0. Then on Thursday, in the completion of a suspended game against first place Chartiers-Houston, Barnyak yielded five runs on seven hits and struck out 19 in the Mighty Mikes’ big 15-inning victory over the Buccaneers, 7-5.

The West Virginia University baseball team sits three games back in the league standings behind Oklahoma with two Big 12 Conference series remaining,. Oklahoma separated themselves from West Virginia over the weekend after going into Lubbock and sweeping Texas Tech. The Red Raiders were 9-3 in home conference games prior to the series.
