Man Arrested After Two-Vehicle Crash on Jacksonville’s North End
Jacksonville Police made one arrest overnight after a traffic crash. A two-vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Sandusky and West Walnut Avenue at 11:38 last night. According to a police report, a vehicle being driven by 51 year old Jagpal Singh of Appomattox Drive was traveling westbound in the 1100 block of West Walnut. A separate vehicle driven by 46 year old Jason R. Lawrence of the 500 block of Pine Street was also traveling westbound directly behind Singh’s vehicle. According to the report, Lawrence allegedly failed to reduce speed and rear-ended Singh’s vehicle sending Singh’s vehicle off the roadway to the right causing it to roll onto its side.
Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Area Businesses During Annual Meeting
A number of area businesses and business-oriented people were recognized during the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting Thursday night. Beardstown Man & Girard Woman Arrested for March 15th Springfield Shooting
A Beardstown man and Girard woman have been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred on March 15th in Springfield. WICS Newschannel 20 reports that 31 year old Jared M. Staake of Beardstown and 27 year old Chelsie L. Bounds of Girard were taken into custody yesterday in Springfield by the Springfield Police Department and members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
JPD Investigating Criminal Damage at Future Champions
Jacksonville Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to property at a local sports complex. According to a police report this morning, sometime within the last several months, an unknown person or persons damaged scoreboards by cutting and removing electrical wire at Future Champions Sports Complex located at Number 5 Kelley Street.

Greene County Case Declared Mistrial After Discovery of Surprise Document
A Sangamon County man had his case in Greene County Circuit Court declared a mistrial yesterday. 40 year old Michael J. Tolliver, formerly of New Berlin, was booked into the Greene County Jail by Carrollton Police after a traffic stop on May 30, 2022 for aggravated battery of a peace officer, driving on a suspended license, resisting a peace officer, unlawful display of title, driving without a seat belt, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
