FRYEBURG, Maine — A couple from Steep Falls is suing the Fryeburg Fair after the husband says he was seriously injured while watching harness racing at the fair. According to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in Cumberland County against the West Oxford Agricultural Society, doing business as the Fryeburg Fair, Gene and Beverly Miner were at the fair on Oct. 5, 2022, and had been watching racing together from the grandstands when Gene went to use the restroom.

The Gray Town Council has scheduled a Public Hearing on October 10, 2023. The meeting will discuss changes to the General Assistance Ordinance. The proposed amendments, replacing appendices A to H, will be effective from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

The Gorham Police Department wrote in a news release that officers were called to South Street to investigate a vandalism report. A vehicle was damaged by either a pellet rifle or a BB gun.
