Photo of Rogers election judge’s shirt draws social media backlash
A photo of an unidentified election judge in Rogers wearing a fake bloodied shirt displaying the words “problem solved” is drawing ire from users on social media. The photo began circulating on social media on Nov. 3. X user Dustin Grage’s post of the photo with the caption, “A poll worker in Minnesota. They just want free healthcare, guys” received over 26,600 likes. Minnesota District 30A Rep. Walter Hudson said the photo was “absurd” and that the woman wearing the shirt should have been arrested for voter intimidation in two X posts. “But Hennepin County invited her back to work at the polls,” Hudson wrote. The city of Rogers confirmed the woman in the photo was a Rogers election judge in a statement posted on Facebook. “The City has been made aware of attire worn by an election judge/volunteer on Halloween that some have taken as a political statement,” the city stated. Farber, Michels win Zimmerman council seats; 13-vote margin could lead to recount

According to the reported results, Farber led the three-candidate field with 1,144 votes, or 33.70%. Michels received 1,113 votes (32.78%), while Earenfight finished with 1,100 votes (32.40%). There were 38 write-in votes. All eight precincts reported, with 100% of precincts reporting in the results posted by the Minnesota Secretary of State. The city is reviewing Minnesota’s election recount provisions to determine whether the 13-vote margin qualifies for a publicly funded recount. According to the Sherburne County Auditor/Treasurer, to have a publicly funded recount the difference must be less than one-quarter of 1 percent of the total votes counted for that office. “There were 3,395 votes cast for this office,” Zimmerman City Clerk Kary Tillman said. “If the math is correct, .25% would be less than 8 votes for a publicly funded recount of the Zimmerman City Council election.” Under that interpretation, a recount requested by a candidate would be considered discretionary and would have to be requested in writing and funded by the candidate. Earenfight said
