GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Death is a natural part of life but often comes with difficult conversations and difficult decisions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates 70% of Americans do not put together plans for their assets or leave those difficult decisions to their family members.

Janet Scovel, the Director of Care Management at Priority Health , sat down with News 8 to explain what the process looks like.

“There are documents available and instructions and there are resources that you can tap into in your community and in your (medical) provider’s office if you don’t have a lot of money, so cost isn’t really an excuse,” Scovel said. “It really is something that everyone can find a way to do with the resources available.”
