ALBANY, NY (Erie News Now)--IN 2021, NEW YORK LAWMAKERS PASSED A LAW TO ESTABLISH MINIMUM STAFF-TO-PATIENT RATIO STANDARDS IN HOSPITALS. A LITTLE MORE THAN A YEAR AFTER THE LAW WENT INTO EFFECT, GROUPS OF NURSES AND HEALTHCARE WORKERS TRAVELED TO ALBANY TO CALL OUT THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WHO THEY SAid ARE FAILING ON ENFORCEMENT.

The asylum seekers at the Rotterdam Super 8 were evacuated around midnight after it was determined the property had no fire alarm or sprinkler system protection. NEWS10 witnessed them board a bus that took them to the Ramada hotel in Albany.

A Schenectady man was indicted Friday, May 10, and is accused of traveling from Albany to Louisiana to engage in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl. Peter Nealon, 66, faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Troy, NY (WRGB) — Friday, Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello praised the city's Public Utilities Crew for a sweet spring rescue. Inside the city's Frear Park city employees rescued a gaggle of baby ducklings by removing the cover from the storm drain, scooping them out and returning them to the parents.

Springtime favorite returns: Greek Festival this weekend in Albany
ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — A Capital Region family favorite returns to Albany's St. Sophia Church Friday to Sunday- the 52nd annual Greek Festival. The festival kicks off Friday at 6 p.m., with over 35 local vendors, bounce houses, live music and dancing. Children 12 and under are free and $5 for an adult day ticket.
