Voorheesville to hold several hearings
VOORHEESVILLE — It’s going to be a busy start to May in Voorheesville as the village has three public hearings planned during the first eight days of the month. On May 7, a joint public hearing of the planning commission and zoning board is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Voorheesville firehouse on Atlas Copco’s proposed expansion plans.
Duanesburg woman charged after assault with a box cutter
New York State Police arrested a Duanesburg woman after they say she assaulted someone with a box cutter on Wednesday. Police charged Tara M. Mariano, 38, with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Daniel Rosch Charged In Serial Stewart's Shops Robberies
Albany County resident Daniel Rosch, age 42, of Watervliet, was arrested on multiple counts of robbery Wednesday, April 24. Watervliet Police said Rosch was behind four robberies that occurred between December 2023 and February 2024, three of them at the same Stewart’s Shops store at 2458 2nd Avenue in Watervliet.
Gun found in student’s backpack at Schenectady middle school
Mont Pleasant Middle School in Schenectady went into lockout mode Friday after staff found a gun in a student’s backpack. The incident took place around 1 p.m. The gun was discovered when a member of the school’s safety team opened the backpack. Police were contacted and the district’s community engagement officer responded, according to a statement from the district.

More up north into the mountains, temperatures are a bit cooler, leaning more towards the low-mid 30s.
