Troutville woman sentenced for shooting her husband
BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A woman from Troutville has been sentenced to prison for shooting her husband, leaving him with life threatening injuries. 51-year-old Rhonda Hinkley was arrested in January 2023 and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. She was found guilty of her malicious wounding charge.
Covington Fire Department sees a busy April
COVINGTON, Va. (WSET) — The Covington Fire Department had a very busy month this April, responding to 36 incidents. In a Facebook post made Saturday, the department said they received multiple calls for brush fires and structure fires in the city and alongside its mutual aid departments in Alleghany County. The department said it was often receiving several calls at a time.
No injuries reported after Bedford County crash into building
BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - No injuries were reported after a Bedford County crash, according to the Bedford Fire Department. The Bedford Fire Department responded to a crash with two people in a vehicle; the driver had hit a building May 10 at 11:56 p.m. on the 12000 block of West Lynchburg Salem Turnpike in Blue Ridge, VA.
