East Texas Gusher Days bring local vendors, live music to Gladewater

GLADEWATER, Texas ( KETK ) – East Texas Gusher Days is back in full force in Gladewater this year.

Festivities started Friday afternoon and will continue through Saturday. The event includes hundreds of local shops straight from the Antique Capital of East Texas, live music, a chili cookoff, a car show and more.

The Gladewater fire and police departments are coming together for a dunking booth from noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, where people will have the opportunity to dunk council members and the fire chief.

“It’s the camaraderie, not only of the vendors often times they will see each other at other events. Also, it brings the Gladewater community close,” Lois Reed, executive director of the Gladewater Chamber of Commerce, said. “We love to have people from out of town, but we also love for our own community to come together.”

The Big Bass Classic is scheduled for April 27 at Lake Gladewater, where people will have the chance to win a grand prize of $500 a $250 gift certificate to Skippers Pier and a $100 gift certificate to Manni’s Italian Kitchen. There will also be door prices and more.
