GEORGETOWN — The new rules to place forested buffers between developments is scheduled to have another public hearing in front of the Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday.

The current language requires at least 30 feet between developments, and where forested buffers exist, a further 20 feet will be required. Penalties will be imposed on developers who violate the new buffer rules, including suspension of further licenses and inspections, if necessary.

Once the ordinance moves through planning and zoning, it will return to the full county council during a future meeting.
