East Moline hosting second annual Cinco de Mayo Taco & Margarita Festival
EAST MOLINE, Ill — If you're looking for a festive (and delicious) way to spend your Cinco de Mayo, East Moline Main Street has you covered. The organization is hosting its second annual Taco & Margarita Festival on Saturday, May 4 from noon to 8 p.m. The event will be located on 15th Avenue in downtown East Moline and will feature more than 100 local vendors. Over 30 of those sellers will be cooking up tacos and other dishes for attendees to enjoy.
Moline's new dual-purpose pitches are nearly complete at Stephens Park
MOLINE, Ill. — The City of Moline is hoping to bring double the fun to Stephens Park this summer. Officials from the City's Parks and Recreation Department hope the new dual-purpose mini-pitches near the park's existing baseball diamond will be completed in the next few weeks. Announced in August 2023, the pitches can be used for both basketball and futsal, which is a form of soccer played on a smaller, more condensed playing field.
Fallen tree leads to closure of Agape Center
BETTENDORF, Iowa — The AGAPE Center's food and house pantry in Bettendorf is searching for a new home. The organization's current location on Devils Glen Road was damaged on Tuesday, April 30 after a large Oak Tree fell on it. As a result, AGAPE is closed until further notice and is not accepting any donations. Pantry officials said the facility served approximately 100 families on both sides of the river every week, and they're hoping to stay in Scott County when they're able to reopen.

RIVERDALE, Iowa — A nonprofit environmental organization is celebrating a major milestone. Officials with Living Lands & Waters planted their 2 millionth tree on Thursday, May 2. The landmark tree was planted at Arconic in Riverdale, IA.
