UPDATED: Storms have exited the area
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - update 2:40 a.m. - Storms have moved east of U.S. 83, now affecting Texoma region. The severe weather threat has ended for the South Plains. update 1:22 a.m. - A few severe thunderstorms are moving eastward over the Rolling Plains. Severe warnings are in place for 1″ hail and 60mph wind.
UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch SE of Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - updated 6:18 p.m. - We’ve seen a few isolated thunderstorms producing around 1″ hail across parts of Garza, Kent and Scurry counties. These storms are moving southeast, out of our area. The focus for any potential additional storm development next couple hours is over the southeastern edge of our area. Around Lubbock the northeast wind is ushering in cooler and more stable air.
