The Palace Bleacher Motor ‘conks out’
(10-27-26) A little behind-the-scenes update from the Palace—and an example of how we approach spending at Coldwater Exempted Village Schools. As many of you know, we plan to replace the bleacher system next summer in the Palace, our main indoor sporting venue. These are the original bleachers installed when the Palace was built in 1990, and after 36 years of use, they are showing their age.

Yorktown football stymies Bishop Luers in cathartic sectional victory
YORKTOWN — Cooper Luzadder saw it coming from a mile away. With less than two minutes to play in the first half, the junior defensive back for Yorktown football recognized the formation that Bishop Luers' offense came out in to start their drive. He knew that his man was about to run a hitch route, and he watched as the quarterback's eyes made their way over to his side of the field. Luzadder backed off his man to bait the throw, and as soon as he saw the quarterback's body turn towards him, he jumped the route with perfect timing, snatched the throw out of the air and returned it untouched for a pick-six. The defensive score gave the Tigers a three-touchdown lead entering halftime and shifted the momentum totally in their favor for the rest of the game. Yorktown held firm in the second half and got their postseason started with a 35-14 victory over Fort Wayne Bishop Luers in the first round of Class 4A Sectional 20. "We had a really good scouting report going into the game," Luzadder said. "Our coaches lived heavily on, 'If you see something, we've got to adjust our alignment as a DB,'
