Lincoln, Tillamook counties to receive Secure Rural Schools Funds
Lincoln and Tillamook counties will share in $47.7 million being sent to Oregon in federal payments under the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (SRS) for schools and road maintenance, youth job training, wildfire prevention, watershed restoration and habitat conservation. Lincoln County will receive $1,298,614.26, and Tillamook County will see $662,760.56, allocated from the U.S. Forest Service, with more expected from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) soon, according to U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley. ...
Art and music book sale celebrates Spring Unveiling in Cannon Beach
The library is set to celebrate Cannon Beach’s Spring Unveiling Arts Festival! The Annual Art and Music Book Sale Fundraiser will be held during our regular business hours, 12 - 4 p.m. on May 1 through May 6. Patrons can find an eclectic selection of hand-picked art books, music books, and collectible vinyl records, priced to sell. All funds go to support the programs and operations of the Cannon Beach Library, a nonprofit organization. Visitors to the Book Sale are also encouraged to purchase tickets for our annual raffle. Departing from the traditional quilt raffle, this year we’ll be raffling off a stunning Stained-Glass Window, created with literary and beach themes to commemorate the library’s 97th year.
