Mount Wachusett Community College awards 620 diplomas: see who graduated from greater Gardner

Mount Wachusett Community College awarded 620 degrees and certificates to graduates at commencement on Wednesday, May 15.

"Welcome to this celebration of our students," said MWCC President James Vander Hooven.

Lt Gov. Kim Driscoll was the commencement speaker. Driscoll commended the students for their achievements.

"And let me be the next person to tell you – because I’m sure I’m not the first – we are so proud of you," she said.

The student speaker was Winchendon resident Katlin Bosworth, a mother of three and a first-generation college student who received an associate degree in both Human Services and in Liberal Arts and Sciences.

"MWCC will always be my safe place, the place where I am supported and encouraged, the place where I became an adult, the place that has helped me raise three children, the place that taught me success was within me, the place that supported me through the loss of my mother, the place that believed I was worth fighting addiction, and the place that has given me acceptance and grace," Bosworth said.
